Error recovery still scans control block lists, but no such loop will
be used for a command in order to get a GOOD status.

You have to apply the following patches in that order:
ncr53c8xx-3.0c-for-linux-2.0.34.patch.gz
ncr53c8xx-3.0c-to-3.0d.patch.gz
ncr53c8xx-3.0d-to-3.0e.patch.gz
