Dear Developers,
on my machine 2.1.106 fails to boot with scsi compiled into the kernel.
Without scsi it works perfectly, i am using it.
booting with scsi generates, right after "scsi: 1 host":
unable to handle kernel paging request at 01da8a1c

the hang was total, no sys-req, no caps lock.
nothing was left in the logs. i can copy the error message by hand if that
is useful.
the controller is an AVA-1502E with a scanner connected. it doesn't depend
on the scanner being switched on or off, it happens anyway.
