Hi,

This is sent to linux-raid a linux-scsi as I'm not sure which
subsystem the problem lies in.

I'm building a new webserver and I'm trying to get a raid5 array set
up for the webspace.

For maximum performance we are useing a Buslogic BT952 twin channel
ultra-wide controler and 5x IBM Model: DDRS-34560W (4.5Gb ultrawide
drives).

However, if I split the drives accross both channels mkraid locks the
machine up solid. This is a fresh redhat5.0 install with kernels
2.0.31, 2.0.33 and 2.1.102. mkraid is fine if I put all the drives on
a single channel, and multi-chanel is fine if I don't use MD (I can
mk2efs and badblocks all disks simultaneously with no problems).

The machine is a twin PII-233 with 128Mb ram and a 3c590 vortex 100Mb
card (running duplex).

The root fs is on an IBM-DHEA-34331 4Gig udma disk.

Any ideas?
