I have an old Seagate Barracuda (ST-15150N) that is certainly a hot running
drive. I just hung a fan in there to blow across the electronics as
Seagate recommends. I mounted the fan to a convenient point with silicone
rubber caulk. I held the fan in place with masking tape while the rubber
set. If I ever need to remove it, a few swipes with a single edge razor
blade or a box cutter and all the evidence is gone. Has worked fine for
three and a half years now. Of course I never turn the box off, which is
what I believe is a MAJOR blow for fixed disk longevity.
