Hi!
The driver had problems with 53C895 and SE devices at initialization.
Richard Waltham has tracked, proven, explained and fixed this problem
in 2.6 driver series (2.6m). The 895 missed the SCSI reset BUS due
to a too short delay after software chip reset.
I have incorporated the changes in the linux-2.1.102 ncr53c8xx driver and
removed the change for NCR53C876 on Ultra/AXi applied in Linux-2.1.101,
since I do think that this problem is very probably fixed by Richard's
changes.
You, guy, who have had problems with a 876 on a Ultra/AXi, could you
give this patch a try and report us how it behaves for you ?
Thanks in advance.
If no problems are reported to me within a couple of days, I will send
the patch to official destinations.
BTW, testing the latest 2.6m driver version, especially on non-intel
platforms is also important.
