You can get a Slackware v. 3.4 bootkernel disk from
ftp://ftp.varesearch.com/pub/mirrors/ncr53c8xx/slack-boot-53c8xx-2.4c
The ncr53c8xx driver version 2.0a and greater detects the Diamond
card. Diamond changed the PCI vendor ID registers, so a trivial patch
was required to recognize the Diamond cards. You may find that you
also need to update the module used after the install. Again, you'll
need 2.0a or newer release. Recent kernels (2.0.33) have 2.5f so if
you get a recent kernel you should be fine.
