  I'm not sure I agree with your statement about the NCR driver (particularly
  the 725 driver) not being solid, but I do agree that there is something to be
  said for having Linux drivers which come from BusLogic.  You're not going to
  save a whole lot of money regardless given that the price of the more
  expensive card is only $80.

Correction: The drivers do not come directly from BusLogic.  I am the author of
the driver, and I am not a Mylex/BusLogic employee nor have I ever been one.
They have, however, been very helpful answering questions during my driver
development.
