I have a DCAS-34330UW with a Buslogic BT-958 doing the same thing on a Debian
1.3.1r6 2.0.33 & 2.1.92 system. It was ALOT worse with an Adaptec 2940. I built
new cables stubbed on 12" centers, turned off on board termination and applied
Granite Digital active terminators, patched the AICxxxx driver per Doug
Ledsford. The errors are less with the Buslogic but still occure every 5 days
or so generally with a reboot. Also have a raid0 & raid 5 tied to this chain
(small, experimental partitions, more of a toy right now). It drives me nuts!
I'm about ready to throw the drives away also. I think about all thats left is a
firmware bug. The good side is the drives run very cool. Killed 3 fujitsu's
before smartened up. (All of the other drives on my system are narrow). If you
figure this out I'd love to hear about it.
Regards,
Mike
