Yes, I've tried them, I have three. I also have a 15150 (I think thats 
the number) which is basically the same drive.  I had the same trouble 
with all 4 of them.  They worked OK for linux, but I could not get them 
to boot.  I ended up low level formatting them and they work fine now.
AIC7880 controller on m-board.
