I am trying to install linux (slackware, kernel 2.0.30) on a Compaq Proliant
5500. The SCSI Controller is based on the NCR/Symbios C875J chipset. While
trying to boot from the boot diskette I receive the messages
       scsi : 0 hosts
       scsi : detected total
Then, after logging in as root, when trying to fdisk it is "Unable to open
/dev/sda".
Does anyone know what to do ?
