I recently put a 2940W into my machine. Plug in, fit the drive, make sure
the ID on the drive is set ok (unless its a SCAM drive - the cards are
SCAM), and check the termination. Boot your system, recompile the kernel
with the aic7xxx support in, and you should be able to fdisk and go.

I was installing a fresh debian system, so I simply had to boot from the
Debian startup disks and fdisk my scsi drive outright to get going.

It's a nice card; good luck getting it working!
