Hi,
I have a problem in installing the slackware 2.3.0
of Linux from the hard disk (drive C) on my PC (drive D).
It looks like my hard disk is not recognized by the boot
disk. Because when I do 'fdisk' it says 'Unable to open' <device>.
Here is what I have:
Fujitsu Team Server ICL
Pentium 90Mhz, 16M of RAM,
Hard Disk SCSI-2 Seagate ST3620N 520Mb (SCSI ID #0),
CD-ROM Matchita CR-503 (SCSI ID #5).
(SCSI Host Adapter: Adaptec AIC-7770 Family Adapter)
(with Adaptec AHA-2740 Bios v2.1 Release)
I`m using the scsi boot disk and the color144 root disk.
I folowed the installation instruction, I have two
partitions on my disk (created by FIPS).
Here is what I get when I boot:
uncompressing Linux large kernel, low 1M tight... done
Now booting the kernel
console: colour EGA+ 80x25, 1 virtual console (max 63)
Calibrating delay loop.. ok - 36.08 BogoMips

It looks like my partitions and my cd-rom are not recognized.
I have tried almost all the boot disk avalable.
I have tried to put 'ramdisk hd=...' or sd= on boot.
And also 'fdisk sda', sdb, sda1....
Thank you for giving me an answer, I have been working on it
for nerely two week now.
