The problem is not the buslogic scsi adapter but rather your quantum
fireballs. This is a very common error for all people who own this
combination of hardware. What I did to circumvent that was take Leonardo
Zukoff's advice, which says to put something like this in your
/etc/lilo.conf: append="BusLogic=0,7"
or applly it at the kernel command line. This has virtually eliminated my
scsi timeouts due to the quantum fireball host. Hope it works for you.
