The AM53C974 driver has problems with disconnection AFAIK.

The Tekram DC390 driver is also included in Linux 2.0.31. (A slightly old
version of it. See ftp://student.physik.uni-dortmund.de/pub/Linux/kernel
/patches or funet for an upgrade ...)

It won't work for you without a patch, because it checks for the Tekram
EEPROM and exits if it can't detect one.
See line 1544 of drivers/scsi/tmscsim.c and replace the call for the
DC390_CheckEEpromCheckSum (...) with (1) which means true.

Please tell me if you are successful. As I maintain the driver it might be
useful to make the driver work for AM53C974 users not having a Tekram.
