I am interested in a card which is reliable, affordable, and a good
performer. Basically, I want a card which is a good value.

Common wisdom suggests Buslogic flashpoint types for all but the most
demanding environments, which would be best served by DPT cards.

Buslogic is reasonably cheap, electrically robust, and have a very
good driver for Linux, thanks to Zubkoff who wrote it and to the
Buslogic people who have been very collaborative.

All this is a summary of things read on the net, not from my personal
experience, but I read quite a lot before making my own buying
decision.
