I'm sorry if this question has come up before. I'm probably being dumb
but I couldn't find archives of this list.
Is there, or is anyone working on, a driver for the American
Megatrends MegaRAID controller? I've been given a Dell PowerEdge
4100/200 which has one integrated in it, plus two aic7xxx chips and 5
removable discs; it seems a shame to have to run RAID in Linux since
there's a hardware controller with cache etc...
Or is this another controller (like the Adaptec 3985?) which just
lends a hand to doing RAID in software?
I've got another machine with a DPT PM3334UW, and I like it and
recommend it, but this client wouldn't listen (not many people in the
UK carry the DPT card). Now they are upset and blame me for the
machine not performing like I said a machine with the DPT card
would. Such is life.
Thanks in advance!
