fdisk fujitsu HD problems

Hi all,
as per my last email I have purchased a BT-958 adaptor hard. Installation
of the card seems fine. The firmware could detect my hard drive and so
could the buslogic.s boot disk. so far so good.
My hard drive is a fujitsu M2954QAU 4.1Gig SCSI. When booting off the
floppy the last three lines read:
Detected scsi disk sda at scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0
scis: detected 1 SCSI disk total
SCSI device sda: hdwr sector= 512 bytes. Sectors= 8498506 [4149 MB] [4.1
GB]
when I do:
"fdisk /dev/sda"
it sees the disk geometry as: 255 heads, 63 sectors, 529 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 bytes
In reading the Partitioning and Disk Geometry sections of the SCSI Howto
it seems that if I am not using any other OS on the system I can leave
this geometry as is. Trouble is I get an error
SCSI disk error : host 0 channel ) id ) lun ) return code = 18000002
extra data not valid Current error sd08:00 sense key Aborted Command
scsidisk I/O error: dev 08:0 sector 0
I have experiment with changing the cylinder/heads/sectors through
fdisk's experts menu. I looked at fujitsu's web page which said
that the correct geometry for a sun system was cy,hd,sec order,
5076,186,9.
I also tried some other options which I can document this too if necessary
but I thought I would see if this is enough info for you to point out what
I might be doing wrong.
oh, BTW I also experiment with a "ramdisk sda=xxx,xxx,xx" line but fdisk
continued to report what it thought was the correct geometry regardless.
