Now i have updated to kernel 2.0.31-pre9 with the aic7xxx.c v.4.1 .
But this didn't fully solve my problem with the raidsystem ( IFT3000 ).
In the morning i saw these kernel-messages:
        kernel: EXT-fs error ( device 08:01 ): ext2_write_inode: unable to
read inode block - inode=... , block=....
        kernel: SCSI-Diskk error: host 0 channel 0 id 0 lun 0 returncode =
28000002
kernel: extra data not valid Current error sd08:01: sense key not
ready
kernel: Additional sense indicates Logical unit not ready, cause
not reportable

In /var/log/messages:
        kernel: (scsi0:0:0) Reset device, active_scb 0

But this time the system didn't hang. Its still working.
deactivated all performance features and set the RESET_DELAY to 30 ( is
this usefull ? ):

Adaptec AIC7xxx driver version: 4.1/3.2
Compile Options:
  AIC7XXX_RESET_DELAY : 30

Scsi1 is a SymbiosLogic ncr53c815

Do you see here something strange ??

I will also try to change the controller from the raidsystem.
