Hey, I got a new kernel, compiled it... and cp'ed it to vmlinuz in
/boot. Before this with the 2.0.18 kernel I had linux running fine off
of my Acculogic card (that was detected as a qlogic fas card). I made
sure to compile scsi support for my card into the kernel.. but now when
I try using lilo off a a boot disk it will read vmlinuz off of the hard
drive but when it gets to a point (when it try's to detect the scsi
card) it detects nothing... but it did before. Now It will get to a
point and then say VFS: kernel error cannot mount root. And freezes.
Now I can't get into linux to try to fix anything. Is there a way past
this? I have redhat linux and now 2.0.30 kernel. I need this problem
solved so I don't have to reinstall linux and lose 2 months worth of
stuff I have setup. I must have forgotten to do something... is there a
lilo command I need to put in like qlogicfas=0x330,11 or something when
I type linux at the lilo prompt? If there is my card is at 330, irq
11... that is all I know. Please someone help. I also have win95 as
another os so if there is anything I can do from there I could do it.
Thanks for your time,
