In may this year my house burned down with everything in it :'( .Now the
insurance came up with a resoneble amount of money : ) . So I want to buy
a computer for use with Linux and windows.
Cause I want to burn my own CD-R in the future I want to have all my devices
SCSI. The configuration I have in mind :

- Phillips CDD2600 CD Recorder SCSI
- 2.1 GB Quantum fireball HD SCSI
- Plextor 20 speed CDROM player SCSI
- MUSTEK Paragon 600II CD SCSI (Scanner)

Can anyone help me with choosing a CONTROLLER ? I've red the SCSI-HOWTO written
by Drew Eckhardt,<drew@PoohSticks.ORG> so I start asking for a BusLogic contr.
BT-948/958 or a NCR53c8xx type contr., but in every shop the 'salesmen' telling
me I must buy a adaptec contr. (2940 ??). This is also cause that's the only
one they're selling.

What I'm asking :

- Does anyone have (bad) experiences with the devices listed ?
- What is the advantage having all SCSI devices (for burning CD-R's)
- What is really a good and affordeble controller ?

Lots of thanks !

 Jeroen Roose <roose@nlr.nl>
