Audio CD on Pioneer drive with ncr53c8xx

Hi,
I own a Pioneer DR-U10X connected to an Symbios Logic SYM8250S
Hostadapter. The boot message follows:

Sometimes, if I switch tracks while playing Audio CDs, I get the
following message and playing stops immediately:
Apr 28 13:33:35 infinity kernel: SCSI CD error: host 0 id 5 lun 0 return code = 28000002
Apr 28 13:33:35 infinity kernel: ^ISense class 7, sense error 0, extended sense 3
Apr 28 13:33:38 infinity kernel: CDROM (ioctl) reports ILLEGAL REQUEST.
This happens on different CDs, the error cannot be reproduced for sure.
I don't have problems using DATA CDs with the same drive
The behaviour seems to not depend on the player program (I use WorkMan
[X11] and WorkBone [Terminal]).
Kernel is 2.0.30 with BSD ported ncr53c8xx driver V1.18d
I didn't have the problem with Linux 2.0.27 and ncr53c8xx V1.16e.
