Hello,

please forgive me if this is a rehash, I just joined the group and I need to
get up and running...

When I boot with the aic7770 image from infomagic.com, I was able to install
linux, configure it, and it seemed to take.

However, it will not boot correctly from the hard drive. It times out
waiting for a response. Here is the configuration,

HP Netserver LC 5/66 (pentium @ 66Mhz>
16M RAM (Will be adding 64M rsn)
Adaptec embedded AIC7770 controller
1.05Gb Disk drive (HP)
HP EISA Lan card (another source of trouble I am sure)

I downloaded the latest Slackware distribution, A, AP, D, N, and Q series
(The shell for those is 1.2.3, could that be the problem?)

The boot image from infomagic.com is 1.1.68

I have read and re-read the scsi howto, hardware howto, and kernel howto,

Thanks for listening, hope someone can help,

Tony Plastino,
