Hello all...

Firstly I must apologise in advance if this duplicates anything which
has already been discussed here, I only joined the mailing list
yesterday - in some panic, because I'm not sure if I've just purchased
the wrong thing!!!!

I've just purchased an Adaptec AHA2920 PCI SCSI card (which appears to be
PNP) and an HP C1536 DAT drive which I want to put into my Gateway P75
PC at home - I haven't been able to back up my Linux systems yet (in
two years - argh!) and got this to do just that.

My question & the panic(!) - does Linux have any support for the 2920 SCSI
card - I've tried searching the web for linux+2920 etc and haven't found
any mention. I joined the mailing list after finding the address in the
Web version of the Linux SCSI FAQ - which I also searched but didn't find
any reference to AHA2920 at all. I'm a bit worried about the PNP bit, how
do I tell the card (from Linux) where it lives (IRQ's etc)?

I know that W95 (eurgh...) supports this card, but that's not the reason I
bought it!

Please can someone help!

Many thanks,

Peter Greinig <pjg@butlins.co.uk>
