Recently I bought a ZIP-Drive in the SCSI Insider Version. This includes a ZIP
ZOOM SCSI adapter which works well under DOS and Windows. But up to now I did
not succeed in getting it to work under LINUX. My card has an Adaptec 1502 chip
on board. I can't find this 1502 chip in any FAQ's or HOWTO's I've read. And
using a kernel (2.0.18?) distributed by S.u.S.E. (Fuerth, Germany) which should
address all Adaptec adapters, the kernel does not recognize the 1502.
Looking at http:://www.adaptec.com, there is some discussion mentioning the
1502 in the context of CDROM's but no information on how to get it work under
LINUX. Similarly I didn't find any information at IOMEGA's WEB pages.
Now my question: Is there any LINUX driver which recognizes the Adaptec 1502
or must I buy a new SCSI card?
PS: Under DOS and Windows the ZIP ZOOM seems to need no IRQ nor is any other
ressource to be specified.
Thanks for Your help,
Elmar Trautenberg
