I have got a Pentium Award 166 MHz MB, and I tried unsuccessfully to
configure the RedHat 3.0.3 distribution of Linux 1.2.13 (and also of Linux
1.3.57) to recognize the SCSI controller AHA-2940AU BIOS v.1.21, with an
EXB-8505SQANXR107R0 8 mm tape unit. I recompiled the Linux kernel with PCI
and SCSI tape options, neverthless at Linux loading no SCSI devices on PCI
slots are
detected...
Notice that the same HW configuration gives no problem under WinNT 4.0.
Did anybody escape from such a "basic" problem?
