Greetings linux-scsi readers,
I just got and installed an Exabyte EXB-8505XL in my Linux machine,
but have been unable to use it. For instance, if I run:
mt setblk 32768
tar -cvlf - -X /usr/backup/exclude.list ./. | dd of=/dev/tape bs=32k
The 'dd' process goes into disk wait, does nothing, and (of course) cannot
be killed. The tape device is unusable until I reboot. Also; how can
I find out what density 'default' is?
Is anyone successfully using an EXB-8500 series drive? If so, how? Thanks.
