Help,

I have an Adaptec 2940UW, and an external Iomega Zip Drive (SCSI
Version). After purchasing the UW to SCSI 2 converter, and the 50
Pin SCSI cable converter from Iomega, I am able to use my Zip Drive
from the Linux Box. Since there is nothing like Mtools for the Zip
Drive for Linux, I mount the Zip Drive as a directory on my Linux
Box. (Same as I would for another SCSI Drive, or a Floppy Drive that
is Extended 2.) I am able to mount the Zip as Extended 2, MSDOS, etc.
However, after I do some work with the Zip Disk (copy, read, open
files, etc.) and I umount the drive, and get a whole lot of errors
which are logged by the syslog daemon as facility Kern. The point
that concerns me is that this log looks almost identical to the log
when I boot up my linux box. In addition to resetting the whole SCSI
bus, which I doubt is really necessary, it appears that my Ethernet
Cards and all of my TCP/IP facilities are being reset. (None of
which should have anything to do with the SCSI bus.
I am attaching the kern facility syslog report.

I'd appreciate any help,

Joe Possert
