Hi,
I have DPT2044W + RC4040 controller with 16Mb cache RAM,
three Seagate Barracuda 4LP disks, configured to RAID-5.
With raw device writes, I get "aborting command due to timeout"
and "SCSI_ABORT_BUSY" error messages.
Even mke2fs on any partition will produce those and
eventually die with "Bus error". If I run
"dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda1 bs=1k", the machine starts
to generate timeouts and eventually reboot without
any further warning.
The machine is a new Intel Tucson with 166MHz Pentium,
32Mb ECC memory, currently no other cards than DPT.
It works well with other operating systems.
About a week ago, Robert Shepard wrote about exactly the same problem,
but I haven't seem any replys.
Any comments, ideas, anything ??
