Configure your kernel for ide and scsi. Leave the ide out of the system
bios. This will boot from the scsi device. When the kernel loads, it
will find the ide drive. You can mount it as part of your filesystem or
use it as swap. Whatever you wish. As long as you do not put it in the
system bios, the machine will boot from scsi.
However, if you do wish to put it in the bios (to use a bootable dos
partition on that drive), just load lilo onto the ide boot sector
(see /etc/lilo.config) and point it to your scsi drive.
