Hello everyone, i've got a problem with the installation of my linux.
i've got the infomagic distribtution of linux (kernel 1.2.13)
i have a scsi hard drive and an adaptec aha-2940 scsi-2 fast pci 2.0 disk controller.
the problem is that when i boot linux the following message appears while booting: scsi: 0 hosts detected. then when i run fdisk to create my partitions, it tells me, cannot open /dev/sda
i have tried all bootdisks that seemed appropriate (idecd, mitsumi etc.) ... even the bootdisk image aha2940 did not work .. always same error.
and the file sda is in the dir. /dev .. it just cannot open it .. (it doesnt detect the hard drive apparently).
what do you suggest me to do ? do you have a solution to the problem ?
thank you for your time and your help
alfy
