Simple question. How is support for the 2940 series under
kernals 2.0 and later? I am looking at putting together 5 systems,
fairly high end and have to choose between the 2940W and UW.

I had heard that the 2940W was supported (sorta) but that the UW
needed a patch to the driver (was this to go into Ultra mode, or just to
run?).

I would of course prefer the UW for later upgrades (seagate
Fast/Wide SCSI2 Cudas will be ued for now (If I understand correctly the
UW has both 50 and 68 pin, does the W also?)).

Thanks for the help.

and they don't carry large enough packets fast enough...
