Hello:
That's a very FAQ , I have tested lot of things for making
work an SCSI controller winthin an Packard Bell Multi function Board
That board got a PAS16 and a 2496 Fax modem, but That doesn't interest
for us , I only want to use the SCSI controller, not the fax or the
Sound Card.
When NO CD is on the CD-ROM , and I load the pas16 module, it
succesfully detect an PAS16 and a NCR CD-ROM attached at minor 0
I use kernel 2.0.17 , on RedHat 3.0.3, so it onour the /dev/scd0
not the /dev/sr0.
When I put a CD on the drive and try to mount that cd , Kernel
panic. If I start a Kernel with PAS16 support inside ( not as module)
and a CD is in the crive , linux doesn't boot.
I take a look to the drivers on the DOS side an then said that
is a trantor CD , an it onour SCSI2 specs , I try to define SCSI2
on /linux/drivers/scsi/pas16.c but it launch an compiling error
who said SCSI2 not suported for NCR5380.
Question I need to configure support only for pas16 or also
for ncr5380 and t128 ?
How bad is my controller I wanna use it for a Seagate 4Gb SCSI
disk st15150w barracuda , also claim to be scsi2.
That 's the message whe pas16 is detected ( the CD player is without CD-ROM)

I also try max_scsi_luns 0 and 8. I suspect that must get another
controller hope not.
