According to Louis Mandelstam:

This is of course true for the functionality on the server (i.e. what
can you do on the server without affecting reliability of the file
service and/or requiring inordinate amounts of memory on the server).
You can run lots of services on the Linux system without problem,
things that would be problematic with Netware.
(e.g. mail/news, Internet connectivity)

However, it certainly *isn't* true for the file service in itself.
(especially as far as security is concerned)
So, what is more flexible depends on your requirements.

Performance is also a lot worse than with Netware. You should
go for Samba instead of NFS when you want any decent performance.
