Hi
I am trying to use netdate on a two machine network. The kernels are
linux 1.2.9 on both machines. on the server the /etc/services and
/etc/inetd.conf
have time and daytime enabled. On the server (snorkel) the /var/adm/messages
has "in.timed[] connect from snapper (client)".
THe error I get is "Connection with udp to snorkel failed". There are lines
for
time and daytime with udp in the above mentioned files.
Is there something else I need to configure? Is there a HOWTO for netdate?
I did not find one.
On the server I have an old version of slackware but updated kernel. On the
client I have slackware 2.2 with the updated kernel. Is there an
incomatibilty
somewhere? If so how do I update just the necessart things for netdate to
work.( I dont want to affect other setups on the machine)
Thanks for any help!
