timer problems in 1.1.90?

I noticed that in 1.1.90, sockets in SYN_SENT don't timeout, they just sit
there forever retrying. Example: the timer might say SYN_SENT off (0.00/11)
(11, 12, 13 ... forever it seems)
Did the timeout change or is it a bug?
The timer used to show a value, not 0.00, showing how many seconds left,
but now it always says zero. I use the netstat from net-tools-1.1.79
