FIN_WAIT2 never quits

Hi all,
Linux 1.3.3, gcc-2.5.8
I have a socket sitting in FIN_WAIT2 that never times out:
netstat -a|grep FIN
tcp        0      0 pallas:1868            tuxedo:ftp             FIN_WAIT2

I would think it should time out after a while?
