   I use TP4, I use Linux, I do not use OSI/TP4 in Linux.
   I do not teach computer protocols in University courses. :-)

   Rumour goes that OSI is/was slightly more popular in Europe than in the US.

Actually, my understanding is that TCP/IP growth rate is significantly
higher than OSI in Europe, and is becoming more so.  Even in France,
where they hate anything originated in the U.S.  :-)  (Witness Eurodisney.)

This is one of the factors that conviced the U.S. Government to stop
forcing U.S. Gov't Agencies from purchasing OSI with every single
computer system (which they did, and then promptly left the hugely
expensive software rotting on a shelf).  Our tax dollars at play....
Fortunately this practice was stopped, roughly a year ago.
