Well, this is it! I put it in and it works immediately. I also learnt that
if I erase the password in passed and thus becomes +username::==
then the authentication will be definitely go to the server, and this is
just what I wanted. Somehow NIS-HOWTO and README weren't very clear on
this.

Yes.

I just upgrade to libc.so.5.3.18 and libc.so.4.7.6. So the ypclient was
compiled
and work on this host. But if I transfer them to another host, I got this:-
sakwoc:~# ypbind
ypbind: can't resolve symbol '_h_errno'
Segmentation fault
But there is no problem with original ypbind (which I use for testing) that
come with Slackware 3.0.This machine has libc.so.5.0.9 libc.so.4.7.2 so
these libc's have not yp support? BTW, yppasswd can update the server
passwd file, but not the server database, is this normal?
I am interested in NIS+ project as well and SUN OS has already got these
running good on their machines. What is the status on NIS+ for Linux? Is
there a mailing list for this?
Next, I would think how of to tie in terminal servers from various vendors
to NIS. I guess there are a lot to learn about on this subject.
