Hi, I am not sure if this message has been successfully sent, as I got
some
problems with my Netscape mail, so I post here again, sorry if you got
it
already:-
After some thought, I am now giving NIS/NYS a try on Linux machine first
since most of the machine is linux. So I went to set up NIS/NYS server
using ypservr.1.0.4 and ypclient using yp-client-2.2 from Lysator.liu.se
ftp site.
Basically the server works fine and for client it seems to work too i.e
ypwhich ypcat gives me the correct results. But I can't seen to have
login to work.
When I login to the host with ypbind, I could not login even when the
password is in the server database. From the server debug messages, I
notice the client didn't not ask for passwd.byname whenever I log in. It
just show host.byname. What am I missing? Do I need to recompile login
and if so where can I get the source for login to compile, and how?
Better if
someone has a login already compile that works with this ypclient-2.2
please let me know or attach it to me.
Thanks,
Regards,
