As I, too, experienced these mysterious hangups (without my pppd noticing!)
can you please give us a hint which modem parameter to tune? I already have
&C1 and &D1 (or &D3). Is the "hangup on line noise" settable by increasing
one of the Sn= values? Which one would you increase?
