Did you enable forwarding/gatewaying when you compiled the kernel?
Otherwise you set up looks fine to me.

A salesmen. Linux is much more intelligent than a router and can function as one.
I would like to get rid of ours if possible. Could never convince ours even to do subnet
routing. Dont think about IPmasquerading etc etc.
