I am not sure if this is a Network/Samba or Kernel issue.
I am using Samba 1.9.15p8 & linux 2.0.7. On the Client side
it is Win3.1 and a Wollongong protocol stack (old).
Linux is replacing a failing SVR4 (NCR) System.
The application is called Business Works for Win3.1
The problem is, Business Works does not operate
properly. When the data was on the Unix server
it works fine. The client side does not change
at all except for a net use statement to point
to the new server. The problem is that the program
thinks a management task is running and won't let the
client run.
I am assuming at this point it is a locking issue,
but I am not sure, their tech support says "Well
if it worked on the other environment, it's
not our problem"... Wonderful.
Anyway, thanks for any input you have
TIA
