G'day.

I had thought of that but I get perfect ping and ftp in both directions
between my Linux box and the WfW box.

I also tried samba-1.9.16alpha10 but that now gives me:

18:31:57> smbclient -L spitfire
Added interface ip=203.2.199.1 bcast=203.2.199.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
Segmentation fault
18:32:11> smbclient -L spitfire
Added interface ip=203.2.199.1 bcast=203.2.199.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
Server time is Tue Jun 18 18:32:12 1996
Timezone is UTC-0.0

Server=[SPITFIRE] User=[] Workgroup=[SDC] Domain=[SDC]

        Sharename Type Comment
        --------- ---- -------
        CD Disk
        IPC$ IPC Remote IPC

The change to a segfault is "interesting".

(As an aside, do you know why it still says UTC-0.0 even though I have
TZ and XGMT environment variables set on the WfW box)

Cheers and thanks,
Stephen.
