I love it when some little weeny who might buy a couple of board tells us
he wont buy from us unless we meet his demands. We make more selling
to telcos in one month than we would if everyone on all the linux lists put
together bought a board from us.
    ..

Dennis,
We know that you and companies like yours "make more selling to telcos ..".
We know that consequently, we who are not "telcos" will often find
ourselves pushed to the end of the after sales service queue. If we report a
bug with a product we expect that it will be fixed promptly only if one
of the far more economically significant telcos is also inconvenienced by that
same problem. Why would it be otherwise? It just wouldn't make economic sense.
Given this understanding of the situation we "little weenies" do well to
purchase hardware that we can support by ourselves -- no one else is going to do
it. The availability of device driver source code makes that support task much
easier.
