1.3.92, hanging rlogin connection

after a timeout (60 seconds?) the connection gets built up. While this
connection was hanging, i could log in to that machine from another VC, i
could ping it, etc.

my device statistics show no dropped frames. Neither does it on the other
end. This happens quite rarely (once a day, using these machines all day).
I've been trying hard to reproduce it (script that loggs in and out and
measures time, thousands of times), but no luck 8(

ps. Pentium, 16M, WD8003, no extras in the kernel: IDE with hdparm -u and
stock networking. can send .config if wanted.
