This is for 1.3.80.
When I ping a machine on the local network that's down, I got a few
'socket destroy delayed' messages immediately after I hit ^C. They
looked like this:
Socket destroy delayed (r=0 w=268)
This works exactly once for each host; a second try for the same host
does not produce those messages.
The 'w' number is 268*the number of ping attempts made (e.g. 1340 for
five pings), until at least five pings.
Hope this helps somebody in figuring out what's wrong.
