I have the same problem. I (ncp)mount Netware's volume which is writable 
for me and set ALL permissions, but can't create any FILE on it from my 
linux box where it is mounted (It seems to beheave like read-only). 
But I can create a directory, but can't delete it then!
looks funny! :-) but it is a big problem for me. (I have kernel 1.2.8)
