Yes!
1. Turn of all plug&pray support in your BIOS setup
2. Use the - hopefully - supplied DOS utils to setup your card.
3. Reboot linux and voila ...
The problem with plug&pray is that the BIOS will disable _ALL_ PnP-aware
Cards not needed for booting the system. In case of the 3c509B this will
cause the card to return invalid or no values when attempting to read
the eeprom.
Maybe we should convince 3COM to ship a Linux-based configuration utility=
with their card as well ? ;-)
