Thank you for all who downloaded ANGOSS SmartWare PLUS last month! We are quite
excited about the response.
We have a new version on our FTP site based on your feedback. Namely, users
with X11R5 could not run the X version. (You can download an executable with
statically linked X11R6 libs which runs fine on X11R5.) Also 7x13 fonts are now
available which make it work better on a 640 by 480 monitor. It can also be
downloaded in segments now.
In the coming weeks, ANGOSS will be offering a free HTML generator created with
SmartWare PLUS. This application takes data entered into database forms and
creates HTML scripts. Please contact ko@angoss.com if you are interested in
beta testing this application.

APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT
Developing applications with SmartWare PLUS will allow the developer to market
and sell their application to any of the supported platforms without
modification and in most instances without recompilation. For example, you may
develop an application with Linux and run it on any of the supported platforms.
These platforms are: most flavors of Unix (character mode or X11), DOS,
Windows, Windows NT and Windows 95.
ANGOSS TOOL SET (RAD)
Cross-Platform
ANGOSS SmartWare PLUS can run concurrently in graphics or character mode. This
means that on a DOS/LAN, SmartWare PLUS applications can operate under Windows
and DOS simultaneously. In a Unix environment, dumb terminals or X11 is also an
option.
Complete System Life Cycle Support
SmartWare PLUS addresses the complete life span of an application from prototype
through development, support and systems management and provides a full range of
user management, organization and control tools.
SECURITY is essential. Via an easy to use menuing structure, the tool set
feature can limit access to any PLUS application with ease.
Automatic Documentation
Application Documentation is generated automatically from the help screens,
menus, data entry screens and reports. Documentation can be produced in its
entirety or tailored for each end-user.
Rapid Prototyping
ANGOSS SmartWare PLUS provides a natural and responsive prototyping environment.
The tool set also has developing features that track user interaction to help in
modifications. But best of all the prototype actually evolves into the
production system.
Comprehensive Auditing
The tool set delivers a comprehensive system audit capability. In addition to
recording pertinent information, it maintains related error reports and
initiation screens. The application activity audit optionally tracks all
activity within an application by individual user, reporting user
identification, date and time of activity and nature of activity itself.
BUSINESS AUTOMATION TOOLS
The modules are fully integrated for your application development needs.
RELATIONAL DATABASE
The database has the flexibility to manage all types of information with up to
two hundred million records. Features such as calculated fields and powerful
tools like Query By Example, automatic query optimization, cross-tabulation for
performing mathematics or tabulating figures and the ability to perform
transactions on up to 250 files provide the features needed for successful
database management. The built-in report generator can incorporate 127 datafiles
into a report. The database supports detailed summary and "total only"
reporting.
SPREADSHEET
The spreadsheet combines minimal and background recalculation, linking and
auditing capabilities with over 300 built-in functions, making it a powerful
analytical tool. Each worksheet can have 10 million addressable cells.
WORDPROCESSOR
The wordprocessor includes cut-and-paste editing, automatic reformatting,
search-and-replace, mailmerge, over 30 available type styles and more to let you
create professional looking documents. Comprehensive spellchecker and thesaurus,
automatic foot numbering, placement and paragraph numbering are also included.
