This message is to announce the release of the latest version of the
Linux port of dvgt 3.51L3. To use it, you will need a working version
of SVGAlib.

The new features in this version of the Linux port include:

+ You have the option of either using plain vgalib calls,
which work on almost all hardware, or using gl graphics
calls, which can be much faster.

+ Scrolling is much smarter. Instead of repainting the entire
screen, dvgt will only redraw what it has too.

+ MakeTeXPK is much less likely to get confused by switching
virtual consoles now (thanks to ashtray for this patch).

+ The man page has been cleaned up and expanded.

Try this version out, even if you have had trouble with dvgt before.
It should now work on a much larger broader range of machines.

* Dvgt 3.51L3 can be found on sunsite.unc.edu (and it's mirrors) in
* the file dvgt-3.51L3. Right now the file is in /pub/Linux/Incoming,
* but eventually it will work it way to /pub/Linux/apps/tex
